Why is it free?
Because it barely costs anything to keep running. Calsheet is offline-first: your diary lives in a local database on your device, so the server only does two small jobs — optional sync for signed-in users and proxying food-database lookups to Open Food Facts. That is cheap enough for an indie developer to fund out of pocket.
The usual ways free apps pay for themselves are exactly what Calsheet was built to avoid: ads, selling data, or locking yesterday's free features behind a subscription — the move that sent so many people looking for a MyFitnessPal alternative. No ads, no data selling, no premium tier. If that ever has to change, the features on this page stay free.

Pricing questions
What's the catch?
There is none to hide. Calsheet is a one-person indie app that is cheap to run: your diary lives on your device, and the server only handles optional sync and food-database lookups. No investors, no growth targets, no reason to squeeze.
Will a paid tier appear later?
There are no paid plans today and none in the works. If that ever changes, everything on this page stays free — the free-forever core is the whole point of the product.
Do you show ads or sell data?
No ads, no data selling, no third-party trackers. The app ships without analytics or advertising SDKs entirely.
Do I have to create an account?
No. The app is fully usable as a guest. An account is optional and adds exactly one thing: sync across devices.
